A disavow file can identify an entire domain with the domain: prefix or individual URLs. Broad submissions made without clear evidence may discount harmless links and remove useful signals. Google already ignores much link spam, so most sites do not need routine disavow work. Reserve it for cases involving a manual action or substantial, clearly manipulative link patterns, including problematic historical link purchases, and assess the evidence carefully.
