301 Redirect

A 301 redirect tells search engines that a page has permanently moved and helps consolidate most of its accumulated backlink equity at the new URL. Before domain migrations or URL restructuring, prepare a one-to-one map from old URLs to replacements to reduce ranking disruption. Multi-step chains such as A to B to C waste crawl resources and add unnecessary processing. Wherever possible, redirect A directly to C.
