The challenge

Customers need to find the specialist information held in a database covering millions of molecules.

What we did

Since June 2017, we worked with Mol-Instincts on SEO and advisory services, helping specialist data and content become visible in the customer’s search journey.

Project Background#

Mol-Instincts is an innovative chemical database built with proprietary quantum chemistry and scientific calculation technology. Unlike conventional databases, its data is predicted using its own technology, with prediction accuracy above 95% validated against experimental data. It provides more than ten billion data points and, according to the project records, a dataset roughly one hundred times the scale of comparable databases. With information on 2.85 million chemicals cited in journals including Nature, visibility on Google was a central challenge for reaching customers who needed this data.

Delivery#

  • Improved site performance through a Technical SEO audit.
  • Addressed barriers to Google crawling and indexing.
  • Provided standards for URL architecture and canonicalisation.

Results

  • Delivered SEO for a large-scale chemical database
  • Maintained a long-term search optimisation and advisory partnership
